How we review

Fattys reviews are measurements, not opinions about effects. We buy or borrow each unit, note who supplied it, and publish the same tests for every model.

The tests

• Heat-up time: Seconds from power-on to the set temperature, timed 5 times.
• Temperature accuracy: Set temperature compared with a thermocouple reading at the chamber.
• Battery: Number of full sessions per charge at one fixed setting (portables only).
• Cleaning: Minutes to strip, clean and reassemble with the included tools.
• Build and parts: Fit, materials in the air path, and whether spare parts are sold in Canada.
• Warranty and support: Warranty length in Canada and how a Canadian buyer gets service.

Specs and safety checks

We copy specs only from the maker's own page and show the date we checked. We search Health Canada's recalls database for every model before testing it.

What we don't do

• No health or medical claims, and no claims about effects.
• No testimonials, endorsements or star ratings.
• No images of people, characters or animals, and no lifestyle imagery.
• No prices or price promotions.
• Commission never decides a result, and retailers can't buy a placement.
